There are 3 different models of The Invisible Step Lift by Oyster Mayfair, all suitable for domestic or commercial use:
Vertical travel only: (Model V)
This model is for travelling straight up/ down between two different floor levels (of up to * 800 mm) where a series of steps are not involved- for example in a split level room or travelling from floor level up on to a stage/ raised platform area or directly up from the driveway or garden level to a ground floor front or back door threshold.
* Optional Extra on Special Order Model V : The maximum elevation on Model V can be extended to 1,000mm.
Vertical and Horizontal travel: (Model VH)
This alternative model also travels vertically and then on reaching the desired travel height (of up to 800 mm) the top platform that the wheelchair stands on slides out horizontally bridging the gap between the steps and the floor (up to a maximum of 1,000 mm).
Short Rise- Vertical travel only: (Model SR)
For overcoming a single step up to a maximum height of 220 mm.
Warranty/ guarantee:
All models of Invisible Step Lifts by Oyster Mayfair now come with a FREE 5 Year Warranty – PARTS AND LABOUR (subject to lifts being serviced at our recommended service intervals by us or our approved contractors). For DFG (Disabled Facilities Grants) the costs of 5 years servicing can be included in our initial quotation. Extended Warranties – The Free 5 year warranty can be extended for a fixed price during its fifth year by another 2 or 5 years taking the total warranty period for an Invisible Step Lift by Oyster Mayfair to 7 or 10 years (subject to service contract being maintained).

The Invisible Step Lift by Oyster Mayfair blends in with its surroundings, the top surface can be finished in a variety of materials such as: marble, brick, slate, wood, laminate, carpet and many other flooring finishes used in domestic or retail/ business premises.
Requiring no ramp – there is virtually no visual impact with this low rise transfer lift. Suitable for many domestic installations and also where an alternative option is required for providing disabled access for wheelchair users in commercial or heritage buildings where traditional wheelchair ramps may not be a viable option due to lack of space for a long ramp or other aesthetic/ interior design considerations.
Preparatory site works – We will provide customers, including their builders and electrician, with instructions and guidance for any necessary building work (creating a pit outdoors or an under floor recess indoors for the lift to be concealed in) including details for providing an electrical supply that will need to be arranged by and paid for by the customer direct to their contractor before we can install and connect the lift.

The Invisible Step Lift by Oyster Mayfair can also be permanently installed outdoors in order to provide discreet wheelchair access to/ from gardens, driveways, patios and decking. It can blend in with modern or traditional properties and their surroundings.

The Short Rise Invisible Step Lift by Oyster Mayfair (Model SR with vertical travel only) can be a convenient solution for providing disabled access, whether seated in a wheelchair or standing with a walking aid, in situations such as internal or external porches where a single step difference in height (of up to a maximum of 220 mm) from the level of the floor to a lower level cannot be overcome by the installation of a tradition ramp due to the lack of available space to accommodate the length of a ramp.

All Invisible Step Lifts by Oyster Mayfair come with a hand held remote control unit as standard, fixed wall or stem mounted control buttons can also be supplied. One of the advantages of the hand held remote control unit is that a parent or carer can control the operation of the invisible step lift until the child is old enough or capable of safely using the remote control unit independently without supervision. By supervising access to the remote control hand set it also prevents other children or visitors to the household from playing with the invisible step lift.
With a maximum load capacity of 350kg for the combined weight of wheelchair user and their wheelchair/ powerchair an Invisible Step Lift by Oyster Mayfair should be perfectly adequate for most users needs.

Model VH (Vertical and horizontal travel)- Technical and Safety information
Capacity 350Kg. Maximum elevation 800mm. Maximum Transfer 1000mm. Total depth for any facing on the platform surface 30mm. Platform useful size (without control stem) 900×1525. Pit size 940×1570, depth 100mm with non slip surface, the depth increases to 130mm in the version to be faced. Platform standard colour- Black. Protection bellows standard colour- Black. Rear and side protective edge with motorised lifting with profile fitting in brass or aluminium. Supply voltage 220 monophase. Push button controls in low voltage (24V) or remote control option. Pantographs made of steel section bars, spaced to avoid the risk of shearing during movements. Two bars on the pantographs for mechanically locking the platform for performing maintenance operations under safety conditions. Safety valves, integrated into the cylinders, for automatically blocking the downward travel in the event of breakage on the fluid power pipes. External electrohydraulic control unit with maximum pressure valve to avoid overloads and emergency manual downward travel.
Model V (Vertical travel only)– Technical information
Similar to the Model VH as stated above – except there is no Transfer measurement applicable to model V. Optional extra on Special Order Model V : The maximum elevation on model V can be increased from 800mm to a maximum of 1,000mm.
Model SR (Short rise vertical travel only)– Technical Information
Capacity 350Kg. Maximum elevation 220mm. Total depth for any facing on the platform surface 30mm. Platform minimum size 800×1250. Pit size 850×1300, depth 250mm with non slip surface, the depth increases to 280mm in the version to be faced. Rear and side protective edge with motorised lifting, with profile fitting in brass or aluminimum. Supply voltage 220 monophase, Controls in low voltage (24V). Safety valves, integrated into the cylinders, for automatically blocking the downward travel in the event of breakage of the fluid power pipes. External electrohydraulic control unit with maximum pressure valve to avoid overloads and emergency manual downward travel.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS :
Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) which can provide up to 45 minutes of running time for an Invisible Step Lift by Oyster Mayfair in the event of a power cut.
Wall mounted control buttons (in addition to a hand held remote control unit) for the raising and lowering of Invisible Step Lifts by Oyster Mayfair.
The illuminated control buttons shown in the following photo were designed to cope with the low light levels and blend in with their surroundings in a Heritage Grade 1 listed Cathedral. There are various designs of wall mounted control buttons available in a variety of shapes, sizes and finishes (including modern stainless or painted finishes) – all designed to compliment their surroundings.

The following 3 photos show an installation in progress including the pit in a kitchen floor into which the Invisible Step Lift by Oyster Mayfair (Model VH) will retract and be concealed in when not in use. You can also see in the first photo on the left hand side the steps leading into and out of the kitchen that the Invisible Step Lift will provide wheelchair access over.

The next series of 3 photos show another installation where we are at the stage of fitting the bottom section of the invisible step lift into the pit. Two of the images show the steps leading into a hallway and the middle photo is a close up of the hydraulic pump and control panel. After this stage of the work has been completed we can then fit the top sliding platform of the invisible step lift.
