Made to measure Stretcher Bed Home Lifts
We can supply custom made lifts for use in private residential properties where there is the requirement for the lift to be long / deep enough to transport a single stretcher home bed.
In order to minimise the amount of internal space that the actual lift will occupy within a domestic property it might be advantageous to design the lift cabin floor size to be rectangular rather than square – but not too narrow, bearing in mind that space will be needed within the lift cabin for a person to accompany the occupant of the stretcher bed lift and maybe room has also to be provided for ancillary medical equipment.
Another example of where a rectangular lift may be required inside a domestic property is when there is a requirement to transport a large powerchair / wheelchair whose occupant needs to be seated leaning backwards at an angle utilising a reclining seatback with a tall headrest and also at the same time needs to be using elevated extendable footrests – all of which will add to the overall length / footprint of the powerchair.
Our Director/ Technical Director has many years of experience in the lift industry including working with Occupational Therapists and clients on DFG (Disabled Facilities Grant) projects.
Our range of larger stretcher lifts / stretcher bed lifts are suitable for care homes, nursing homes, hospices and other medical facilities where a lift may be needed to accommodate stretchers, passengers, staff, ancillary medical equipment and wheelchair users.
Examples of our stretcher bed lifts:
These lifts can be made in a variety of sizes and capacities as well as having various options such as: through car door configuration, key pad security access/operation and automatic rescue whereby in the event of a power cut the lift automatically travels to the nearest level.
In nursing homes, hospices and other such environments it may be desirable when installing a stretcher bed lift to consider adding keypad security or other options in order to provide restricted general access from the landings/ corridors into the lift cabin in order to provide discreet travel and respect for the deceased and not to upset the public.
